Fratzke Commercial Real Estate Announces The Capitol in Downtown Bend
Fratzke Commercial Real Estate Advisors, Inc. is proud to announce that a new restaurant, bar and venue has announced plans for a full build-out of the currently vacant basement space in downtown Bend at 190 NW Oregon St.
*The 6,900 square-foot space, which is located below Patagonia@Bend, Bend Mountain Coffee, Wild Rose Northern Thai Eats and Bishops Barbershop, is planned to be primarily a restaurant, but will also function as a bar, concert venue and rentable space for community events and receptions.
The name of the business is a hand-me-down from one of Bend’s original establishments, The Capitol Theatre, which was open from 1922-1955 located on the corner of Greenwood and Wall, now the Bank of America and adjacent parking lot. Co-owners Sean Day and Nate Edgell-both longtime Oregonians and food and music industry professionals-hope that the spirit of entertainment and local history of the theater will live on through The Capitol. Â “We liked the name, and the feeling of bringing back the history of the town with a modern twist and feel,” explained Day. “B.A. “Dutch” Stover who owned the original Capitol Theatre also had two other theaters in the downtown area. He was an entrepreneur and a visionary. He wanted to see this town grow and be fun everyone. We hope to bring the spirit of Dutch into our spot,” adds Day.
A complete renovation of the space is currently in the works by local architect team Stemach Design & Architecture, who had a hand in the 2013 remodel of Dojo Asian Lounge & Raw Bar and the interior design of 10 Barrel’s Galveston pub.
